According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have made a formal offer to Osimhen’s representatives in an attempt to negotiate personal terms. The club has a strict wage structure in place and is unwilling to sign Osimhen unless he agrees to a wage cut.
Despite the delay in securing Osimhen’s transfer, Chelsea’s owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are willing to be patient. However, reports suggest that Chelsea have renewed their interest in signing Ivan Toney from Brentford, who is more likely to accept their contract offer. Toney is also considering a move to Saudi Arabia, but Brentford have yet to accept any offers for the England international.
