In a recent development, it has been reported that Manchester United have held talks with the representatives of Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadioglu regarding a potential transfer for the 24-year-old in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kadioglu’s impressive performances for Turkey during Euro 2024, where his country reached the quarter-finals, have sparked a flurry of speculation surrounding his future. Arsenal have been linked with the full-back, while Brighton & Hove Albion are also rumoured to be in discussions for his services.
However, Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has revealed that Manchester United have also thrown their hat into the ring and have been in contact with Kadioglu’s agents. The Red Devils are reportedly keen to gather information on the defender’s contract terms and wage demands.
Kadioglu has already made three appearances for Fenerbahce this season, finding the back of the net once in the Champions League qualification rounds. With the left-back tied down to a contract until June 2026, the Turkish giants are poised to demand a hefty transfer fee given the interest from multiple clubs.
Having joined Fenerbahce from NEC in 2018, Kadioglu has amassed 202 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals and providing 22 assists in the process. Manchester United are eyeing reinforcements in the left-back position, with Tyrell Malacia out with a knee injury and Luke Shaw struggling with fitness issues last season.
In their pursuit of defensive reinforcements, Manchester United are also in talks to sign Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is set to move to West Ham United. Mazraoui is expected to battle it out with Diogo Dalot for the right-back spot, while Matthijs de Ligt could arrive from Bayern to bolster the center-back position.
Youngster Harry Amass, 17, has emerged as a candidate for the left-back role next season, although he is yet to make a competitive senior appearance for the Red Devils. The club is believed to be actively looking to strengthen their squad in the closing stages of the transfer window, with a potential attacker being targeted if Jadon Sancho departs.
