Leicester City have reportedly set their sights on potential summer transfer targets from Chelsea and Liverpool. The Foxes, under new head coach Steve Cooper, are working hard to build a squad capable of avoiding relegation after their immediate return to the Premier League.
In addition to securing Abdul Fatawu on a permanent deal, Leicester have also brought in Caleb Okoli, Michael Golding, and Bobby Decordova-Reid from Atalanta BC, Chelsea, and Fulham respectively. However, with the departures of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Kelechi Iheanacho, the squad is in need of further reinforcements.
Despite financial constraints, Leicester are aiming high in the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window. One player on their radar is Chelsea forward David Datro Fofana, as reported by the Daily Mail. Fofana, who was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour, is reportedly available for loan with an option to buy.
Meanwhile, Leicester have also joined the race for Liverpool playmaker Fabio Carvalho. The 21-year-old has attracted interest from Southampton, who had a bid rejected by Liverpool. Leicester have reportedly made contact with Liverpool about a potential deal for Carvalho, who has impressed in pre-season friendlies.
With Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka as their current attacking options, Leicester are looking to strengthen their squad with additions from top clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool. It remains to be seen how many more signings Leicester will make before the transfer window closes.
