In a recent development, it has been revealed that with Nelson’s contract having three more years left, Arsenal might expect a fee of £15-20 million. The money received will help them comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Arsenal have been actively looking to offload fringe players to make space for new signings. The likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Aaron Ramsdale have been put up for sale, in addition to Nelson.
Nelson, who signed a new contract in July 2023, was praised by Mikel Arteta as an “exciting offensive talent”. Arteta expressed, “Reiss is a player I have admired since the first day I was here. He has tremendous ability and is such an exciting offensive talent.”
However, Nelson’s progress has been hindered by the rise of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Arteta clearly favors them, along with Leandro Trossard, over Nelson. Therefore, it is anticipated that the 24-year-old may find it difficult to remain at Arsenal for the upcoming season.
As the transfer window heats up, Arsenal fans eagerly await news of potential ins and outs at the club. Stay tuned for more updates!
